The aim of the function was to give recognition to the top achievers in the first, second and third year classes as well as the honours students. During the event, cash and other prizes amounting to R35 000 was awarded to the students.

The best honours student for 2011, Nicolette Malherbe, with Cyril Francis of the Department of Tourism Management.

The best second-year student, Kylie Coleman, with company representatives from Reservation House and Town Lodge Menlo Park.
