The research culminated in the development of the so-called "Match Model" which drew a lot of attention from delegates at the Conference since it provided a new way of presenting complex information on how tourism products meet tourist needs in any selected region, locally or internationally.
The Model has already received a great deal of interest in South Africa. Prof Lubbe has been invited to present the model to the Parliamentary Committee on Tourism in Cape Town during September. The Bergrivier region in the Western Cape also invited honours students in order to apply the model in that region.
