Yasmine Luhandjula, Doctoral Candidate

Yasmine Luhandjula is an LLD Candidate under the NRF SARChI Chair in International Constitutional Law.

She completed her LLB degree in 2016 at the University of Pretoria. From 2017 to 2019 she served a 2-year mandate as a Candidate Attorney.  Thereafter, from 2019 to 2021, Ms Luhandjula worked as the Campaigns Coordinator for the African branch of the Climate Reality Project.

Ms Luhandjula holds an LLM degree which she completed in 2020 from the University of Pretoria, under the Centre For Human Rights. She is currently pursuing her LLD degree under the supervision of Professor Dire Tladi and as a recipient of the NRF SARChI Bursary. Her main areas of interests are International Law, Human Rights Law and International Environmental Law. She is particularly interested in the International Climate Change Regime and its effectiveness as the leading response to the existing and emerging climate change crisis.

Ms Luhjandjula is an admitted Attorney (Legal Practitioner) of the High Court of South Africa and she is the Chief-Editor of an online magazine called Sheevolves. Lastly, Yasmine is a recipient of a scholarship awarded by The Hague Academy of International Law which enabled her to attend the Public International law course.
