The Department of Physiology takes great pleasure in extending a warm welcome to Ms Khanyisa Maswanganye and Ms Nibha Surajlal, our distinguished interns. Their appointment, made possible through the Presidential Youth Employment Stimulus (PYES) initiative, marks a significant step towards fostering employment opportunities for young graduates and cultivating their work-readiness skills.

From July 1st to December 31st, 2023, Ms Maswanganye and Ms Surajlal will be integral members of our department, contributing their insights and energy to our academic community. The PYES initiative, a commendable endeavour, aims to empower young University of Pretoria graduates by offering them valuable professional experiences and a platform to hone their skills.

We are immensely grateful to the PYES initiative for selecting two exceptional individuals to join us in our pursuit of excellence. The guidance and mentorship provided by Prof. Janette Bester and Dr Mia van Rooy will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in shaping the journey of Ms Maswanganye and Ms Surajlal during their internship.
