 Dip Odont

 This is a postgraduate diploma and can be completed in one to two years of part-time study and can be conducted in the field of Periodontology, Implantology or Oral Medicine.

A minimum of two years post qualification experience is required. Oral Biology is a basic subject completed during the course of the diploma.

MSc (Odont)

This is a part-time postgraduate degree which involves a research project and master’s dissertation.

Minimum duration: two years.

Students must be in possession of a BChD degree or equivalent, as well as a Dip Odont postgraduate diploma or equivalent.

MChD (OMP)

This is a full-time postgraduate specialist degree.

This degree involves four years of full-time study. Basic subject requirements are Anatomy, Physiology, Oral Biology and General Pathology. Secondary subjects include Pharmacology and Oral Pathology, and attendance of discussion classes in Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Ethics and Research Methodology. Final subjects are written in Oral Medicine, Periodontics and Implantology. A research dissertation is submitted in the final year of study.

Those who complete this degree will be able to register as a Specialist in Periodontics and Oral Medicine.

PhD

This is a part-time postgraduate degree which involves research and a doctoral thesis.
