Prof Josua Meyer of the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Pretoria has co-authored the newly published textbook “The Art of Measuring in the Thermal Sciences” together with Prof Michel de Paepe, professor of Thermodynamics in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Ghent University in Belgium.
The textbook is aimed at anyone conducting measurements and experiments in thermal sciences, which are typical in a wide array of fields, such as refrigeration, transport, energy generation, manufacturing and mining. Borne out of the research and experience of Prof’s Meyer and de Paepe, it is aimed at both industrial and academic contexts where thermal measurements are required. This book thus offers engineers, researchers and graduates a source of best practices in the thermal sciences.
The textbook covers topics such as the fundamentals of thermal measurement, advanced measurement techniques and the analysis and design of thermal systems.
The book has four main parts, namely :
The book is available from a number of outlets, such as Taylor and Francis, Routledge and Amazon.
