Geological Society of the University of Pretoria 

GSUP is the official geological society at the University of Pretoria. We offer many services to students as we are the link between the students and the geology department. GSUP aims to bridge the gap between the students and the lecturers. We are a group of passionate students who are dedicated not only to the field of geology but we are also passionate about helping students integrate into university. 

Vision:

GSUP aims to create excitement about geology at an undergraduate and postgraduate level. We try to create and maintain a platform of interaction between all members of the geology department, GSUP also aims to represent the interest of students associated with the Geology Department.

Mission:

Our first responsibility is to make sure that our students are on track with their academics and as such we provide struggling students with mentees, we host tutor sessions in Geology specific modules and we supply students with information regarding careers in Geology.

We host various educational excursions throughout the year to showcase the geological wonders our country has to offer. Through these excursions our students can interact with lecturers in a less formal environment than the lecture theatre.

We host various social events where students and staff members get to interact in a relaxed, non-academic and safe environment.
