Invitation: Final Round and Closing Ceremony of the 13th Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition

The Centre for Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria, the Washington College of Law, American University, Washington DC,  the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Human Rights Council Branch at the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights present the final round invitation World Moot  16 July 2021.

 

 

You have cordially invited to the final round and closing ceremony of the 13th edition of the Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition, which has taken place virtually in 2021. 

 

 

Congratulations to the teams that qualified for the final of the 2021 edition of the World Moot. The two teams will present their oral arguments to a panel of human rights experts and judges of international tribunals. The hypothetical case tackles contemporary global human rights issues. 

The judges in the final round are as follows: 

  • Judge Ivana Jelic
    European Court of Human Rights 
  • Professor Veronica Gomez 
    President, Global Campus of Human Rights 
  • Professor Chris Peter
    UN International Law Commission 
  • Mr Yash Nain
    Commonwealth Secretariat 

The final round will be held virtually on 16 July 2021 at 11:00, CET / South African Standard Time
The event will be open to the public and will be live-streamed on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube
