Four UP Law moot court competition teams are 'warming up' for international competitions

Student teams of the Faculty of Law (UP Law) at the University of Pretoria (UP) are 'warming up' with various practise sessions for a number of international moot court competitions scheduled for the first semester of 2021.  They are the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot; Monroe E. Price Media Law Moot Court Competition; International Children’s Rights Moot Court; and Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition.

The following students will represent UP Law in the respective competitions:

Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition

Coach: Kiranteba Coetzee 

Speakers: Abigail Ashfield, Kgomela Lebo Ashley, Neo Lebajoa and Keeghan Smith

Researcher: Neha Maharaj

Monroe E. Price Media Law Moot Court Competition

Coach: Kyle Cloete (sponsored in part by ICLA)

Assistant coach: Dinendri Pillay 

Speakers: Julia Tosi and Lauren Webber

Researcher: Heinrich Nienaber 

International Children’s Rights Moot Court Competition 

Coach: Sasha Lordan (sponsored by the UP  Centre for Child Law) 

Participants: Comfort Ayelomi, Boitumelo Mbangeni, Mmule Molokoane and Tamrin Slager 

Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition 

Coach: Nicholas Du Toit 

Speakers: Thuwaybah Moses and Rorisang Moyo

Researcher: Thubelihle Dumisa.

As always, UP Law firmly backs its mooting teams, and wishes them the best of luck with their endeavours.  A proud Dean Elsabe Schoeman wishes the teams well, and extends her congratulatioins to all selected team members.  'We are already proud of you all.  There is little doubt that our teams will work hard to keep UP Law on the international mooting map, in trend with our almost enequalled mooting record on the continent and internationally.'
