The Faculty of Law of the University of Pretoria is proud to announce the 2017 National Research Foundation (NRF) ratings of its lecturers.

Professor Corlia van Heerden received a C1 rating.  A C2 rating was allocated to Dr Philip Stevens whilst Professors Steve Cornelius and Charles Ngwena received B2 and B3 ratings respectively.  Professors Charles Fombad and Christof Heyns received B1 ratings.

In his announcement of the latest ratings, a proud Dean André Boraine congratulated colleagues ‘on their splendid achievements’.

The National Research Foundation (NRF) was established as an independent government agency, through the National Research Foundation Act (Act No 23 of 1998). The mandate of the NRF is to promote and support research through funding, human resource development and the provision of the necessary research facilities in order to facilitate the creation of knowledge, innovation and development in all fields of science and technology, including indigenous knowledge, and thereby contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of all South Africans.[1] One NRF rating is still pending.
