New NRF-ratings for TuksLaw lecturers

Posted on November 19, 2015

A proud Dean André Boraine from the Faculty of Law at the University of Pretoria, congratulated three TuksLaw staff members on their newly acquired NRF ratings. They are Prof Erika de Wet, SARChI Professor of International Constitutional Law and co-director of the Institute for International and Comparative Law in Africa (ICLA) who received an A2 rating; Prof Annelize Nienaber from the Department of Public Law who received a C2 rating; and Dr Femida Cassim from the Department of Mercantile Law who received a Y2 rating.

'Hearty congratulations to our colleagues on their NRF ratings. Let us celebrate with them! Well done Erika with the A2 rating. Erika is our first permanent full-time staff member to achieve an A rating. The A2 NRF rating indicates that a researcher is recognised by the overriding majority of reviewers as a leading scholar in his/her field internationally for the high quality and impact (either wide or confined) of his/her recent research outputs. Our first time applicants also did very well: Annelize Nienaber received a C2 rating and Femida Cassim a Y2 rating. We are very proud of you.'
