On Monday, 16 March 2015, the Department of Private Law in the Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria hosted a seminar on Comparative Research Methodology by world-renowned expert, Prof Katharina Boele-Woelki from Utrecht University, The Netherlands.  

Although the seminar formed part of Private Law’s RHP 902 module, staff and students used this seminar to expand their knowledge on inter alia the selection of jurisdictions, unification and harmonisation, the functional approach to the four stages of comparative research, and successive and simultaneous comparison. 

On 17 March Professor Boele-Woelki addressed a Private Law Research Discussion Group on "Combined comparative research".
