A total of 17 national teams and one international team competed in this Competition.

The Afrikaans TuksLaw teams comprising Hermann Pretorius and Petronell Kruger, as well as Gert Nel and Bianca Kehrhahn qualified for the semi-finals, whereafter both teams proceeded and argued against each other in the final round of the Afrikaans Division of this Competition, during which Hermann Pretorius and Petronell Kruger obtained first place.

The English teams comprising Emile Zitske and Serena Kalbskopf, as well as Tshepo Seloane and Daniella Galego qualified for the semi-finals of the English Division, whereafter Emile Zitske and Serena Kalbskopf argued against the Charlotte School of Law, North Carolina, USA, in the final round, and obtained second place.

The Afrikaans teams were coached by third year LLB student, Charné van Biljon and co-coach Linette du Toit, second year LLB student.  The English teams were coached by penultimate year LLB student, Ofentse Motlhasedi and co-coach, Jason Gouveia, a second year BCom Law student.

This year the format of the competition changed which required the winners of the Afrikaans Division, Hermann Pretorius and Petronell Kruger, to apply their advocacy skills against Charlotte School of Law, winners of the English Division.  At the end of the day Charlotte School of Law was declared overall winners of this Competition.

Hermann Pretorius representing TuksLaw walked away with the laurels as Best Oralist in the Afrikaans Division.
