The Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR), the University of Pretoria’s School of Public Management and Administration (SPMA) and the Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa (OSIEA) invite you to a webinar with the theme: Mapping and scoping of innovations in social protection in Africa.
The main objective of this webinar is to explore how social protection measures can be innovative in securing better welfare outcomes in a just and inclusive way. In this convening, participants will critique the different interpretations and applications of innovation in social protection. They will further discuss the evolution of social protection practice in the role it plays, beyond a social safety net, promoting those without sustainable livelihoods or whose integration in the labour markets is precarious. The aim is to discuss the extent to which civil society actors in Africa participate in understanding and shaping the future of social protection policies and programmes over the next decades.
