On Thursday, 14 April 2016, a doctorate in law was awarded to Yvonne Jooste, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Jurisprudence in the Faculty of Law of the University of Pretoria. The title of her doctoral thesis is "The subaltern can speak': Reflections on voice through the lens of the politics of Jacques Rancière", completed under the supervision of Prof Karin van Marle, Head of the TuksLaw Department of Jurisprudence.
Yvonne [(LLB LLM LLD (Pret)] joined the Faculty as senior lecturer at the beginning of this year. She teaches Jurisprudence 110 and Jurisprudence 420 at undergraduate level. She is also involved in the course ‘The history and philosophy of human rights’ as part of the LLM in Law and Political Justice that is offered in collaboration with Birkbeck Law School, University of London convened by the Head of the Department of Jurisprudence.
