TuksLaw alumna successfully completes LLM in the UK through Oppenheimer Memorial Trust Scholarship

TuksLaw is proud to announce that alumna Katherine Harding (LLB – 2008 to 2011) recently successfully completed her LLM in Public Law at the University College of London through a Oppenheimer Memorial Trust Scholarship.  Provisionally, she has been awarded her LLM with distinction, including a distinction for her dissertation titled "Protecting Everyone and Protecting No-One: A Critique of Police Liability in Negligence from a Feminist Perspective".

During her years at UP Katherine successfully represented TuksLaw in numerous moot court competitions in South Africa and internationally. After graduating from TuksLaw in 2011, Katherine completed her articles of clerkship at Adams & Adams in Pretoria. She was admitted as an attorney in March 2014 and was retained as a Professional Assistant in the Commercial, Property and Litigation Department.  As a Professional Assistant Katherine specialised in litigation including general commercial law, public law, constitutional law and administrative law matters.

Seemingly she has not been entirely able to shake the mooting bug that she caught at UP, as she has been offered pupillage at the Johannesburg Bar commencing in January 2016.  Katherine says that ‘I hope to put my degrees to good use by continuing to specialise in the field of public law.'
