A Doctoral Student Needed Urgently

There is an opportunity for a highly motivated doctoral candidate. The doctoral candidate will work on biosurfactant-induced micellar-enhanced ultrafiltration process for treatment of mineimpacted water project funded by the Water Research Commission of South Africa under the guidance of Dr Keneiloe Sikhwivhilu based in Mintek and Professor Michael Daramola based in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Pretoria. This doctoral position offers the opportunity to design and evaluate a biosurfactant-induced micellar-enhanced ultrafiltration process for treatment of mine-impacted water. The PhD student will be provided access to the state-of-the-art research facility in the Department, and the possibility for national and international collaboration. Applicants with degrees in Chemical/Process Engineering, Chemical Technology, Environmental Engineering or Chemistry are encouraged to apply. Detailed knowledge of analytical procedures relevant to the field of membrane technology for water and wastewater treatment will be an added advantage. Candidates with M.Tech qualification passed at distinction level and with proof of scientific publications may be considered.
