The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery provides open-heart, cardiac and thoracic surgery as well as follow-up consultation services at Steve Biko Academic Hospital. Through our referral system we provide these services to patients referred from Tshwane District Hospital, Kalafong Hospital and many other secondary institutions. Our patient range is wide, from surgical treatment of neonates up to adults. The department of Cardiothoracic has a full-week dedicated theatre list.
