Episode 2: LeadUP Podcast: Hon Yvonne Dausab, Minister of Justice of Namibia

Hon Yvonne Dausab, Minister of Justice of Namibia, on leading for social justice

Our second episode of the LeadUP Podcast features the Honourable Yvonne Dausab, Minister of Justice of Namibia, a University of Pretoria (UP) alumna who assumed office during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She chats to host Lennox Wasara about steering a governmental department through the global pandemic, and what she does to stay grounded and connected with her constituents. The minister also expands on how her upbringing in Windhoek’s Katutura township set her on a path in pursuit of social justice and how her values have influenced her service-orientated leadership style.

Minister Dausab holds a Master of Laws degree, specialising in human rights and democratisation in Africa, from UP. She is the former Chairperson of Namibia’s Law Reform and Development Commission, and was previously the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Namibia.
