Public resource mobilization - taxation, in particular - is the special focus of the 2010 edition of the African Economic Outlook (AEO), a report produced annually by the AfDB, the OECD and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa. The AEO will be launched at the African Development Bank’s Annual Meetings in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire on 27 May 2010 and will then be presented in Paris on 11 June 2010 at the 10th International Economic Forum on Africa.

The purpose of the December meeting was to gather experts from African and OECD countries to frame the issues to be covered in the forthcoming AEO. In particular, the goal was to draw out fresh perspectives on and new solutions to the challenges taxation poses for African governments and their citizens.
