The topics to be covered are Indirect Tax Coordination in SADC, Value-added Tax in Africa and Excise Taxation in Africa.

It is expected that participants from primarily tax administrations and ministries of finance from at least 20 African countries will attend this conference. Key-note speakers include Professor Sijbren Cnossen (Professor Extraordinarius, Department of Economics, University of Pretoria and member of the ATI Advisory Board) and Professor Pierre-Pascal Gendron (Humber College, Toronto, Canada). After the Cape Town conference they will visit the University of Pretoria as instructors for the Value-added Taxation module in the Masters Program in Taxation.
