The following seven short courses were offered (through CE at UP):
· Value-added Taxation
· Excise Taxation
· International Taxation and Tax Treaties
· Fiscal Regime for Petroleum and Mining
· Fiscal Decentralisation and Local Government Taxation
· Introduction to Tax Analysis and Revenue Forecasting
· Advanced Tax Analysis and Revenue Forecasting
Participants from the following twelve African countries attended one or more of these short courses: Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Swaziland, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. For the first time participants from Indonesia attended an ATI short course, with two participants attending the short course on Fiscal Decentralisation and Local Government Taxation.
