Prof Anita Michel a contributor to top ranked eBook on Zoonoses

Prof Anita Michel, Professor in bacteriology in the Department of Veterinary Tropical Diseases, is the author of a chapter titled ‘Zoonotic aspects of tuberculosis: disease of the past or re-emerging zoonosis?’ of the eBook ‘Zoonoses – Infections Affecting Humans and Animals’. Andreas Sing is the Editor.

The book is part of the Springer eBook Collection of 2015. Since its online publication at the end of 2014, there has been a total of 34,300 chapter downloads for the eBook version, ranking it among the top 25% most downloaded eBooks in the relevant Springer eBook Collection in 2015. It is available online at http://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-94-017-9457-2.

The book covers the most important zoonoses with a public health impact and debate actual developments in this field from a One Health perspective. The outline of the book follows a “setting” approach, i.e. special settings of zoonoses with a public health aspect, rather than presenting a simple textbook of an encyclopedic character.
