The Department of Taxation at the University of Pretoria recently bid farewell to the outgoing Tax@Tuks Executive Committee (EC) for the 2024/2025 term, celebrating their remarkable contributions to students, the Tax Department, and industry networks.

Head of Department, Prof Hanneke Du Preez, thanked the EC for their dedication, while guardian and lecturer Geraldo Jansen praised their growth into young professionals ready for the world of work.

During their term, the EC hosted impactful initiatives such as the Smart Taxpayers Escape Room Quest with the Office of the Tax Ombudsman, Shaping Future Leadership with Unicas Tax Specialist SA, as well as student-focused socials and outreach projects. These efforts greatly enriched student experiences and strengthened Tax@Tuks’ reputation.

The farewell concluded with heartfelt congratulations to the EC and best wishes from
both Prof Du Preez and Jansen.
