Prof Jacqueline AldersonPhD, FISBS, leads research teams in biomechanics, machine learning, wearable technologies, and pro-public tech development at The University of Western Australia, where she is Tech Director of the UWA Minderoo Tech & Policy Lab. She is also Adjunct Professor at Auckland University of Technology in Human Performance Innovation Technology. Jacqueline is a current International Society of Biomechanics Executive Council member, a champion of women in STEM, an active member of Advancing Women in Biomechanics and an International Society of Biomechanics in Sport Fellow and former Director. She has 200 publications across biomechanical modelling, sports performance, and injury prevention themes, and has supervised 24 PhD students to completion. Jacqueline has an extensive academic, community, and industry engagement portfolio with >$8 million in funding from grant bodies including the International Cricket Council, Australian Institute of Sport, Australian Research Council, Indian Premier League, Swimming Australia, Cricket Australia, VICON, Minderoo Foundation, and Sir Charles Gairdner and Princess Margaret Hospitals. |

Prof Julia PowlesProf Julia Powles is the Director of the UWA Minderoo Tech & Policy Lab and Associate Professor of Law and Technology at The University of Western Australia. Her research focuses on privacy, intellectual property, internet governance, and the law and politics of data, automation, and artificial intelligence. Julia is chief investigator on the Australian Institute of Sport-National Institute Network project on Data Governance for High Performance Sport (2021-22) as well as Co-Chair of the Australian Academy of Science Expert Working Group on Data in Professional Sport (2020-22). Prior to joining UWA, Julia held appointments at New York University, Cornell Tech, the University of Cambridge, The Guardian, and the World Intellectual Property Organization. She also balanced her academic role with 12 months as inaugural CEO, Frontier Technology at Minderoo Foundation. Julia studied genetics, biophysics and law in Australia and received her BCL from Oxford and PhD from Cambridge. |

Prof. Vincent GouttebargeProf. Vincent Gouttebarge is a former professional footballer who played 14 seasons in France and The Netherlands (232 games; twice ACLR; twice concussion). He is Extraordinary Professor at the Section Sports Medicine of the University of Pretoria. He is also working as A/Professor at the Orthopaedic Surgery department of the Amsterdam University Medical Centers and as Chief Medical Officer at FIFPRO (Football Players Worldwide). Prof. Gouttebarge’s work focusses on a wide range of sports medicine domains being relevant in professional sports (emphasis on football), striving to protect and promote the physical, mental and social health of active and former professional athletes. He is Chair of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Mental Health Working Group, co-Director of the IOC Programs on Mental Health in Elite Sport, member of the Concussion Expert Group of the International Football Association Board (The IFAB), member of the Medical Expert Group of the French Professional Football League (LFP), and member of the South African Sports Medicine Association (SASMA). Prof. Gouttebarge is also member of the Editorial Board of the South African Journal of Sports Medicine and Injury Epidemiology. |

Dr Nirmala PereraDr Nirmala Perera is an accomplished scientific researcher with experience in sports medicine, international health, public health, and digital communication and knowledge translation from three continents. Currently, she works as the Clinical Research Project Officer at the Australian Institute of Sport. She previously held Post Doctoral Research Fellowships at the University of Oxford and the University of Linköping, Sweden and is a member of Sport Without Injury ProgrammE (SWIPE). Nirmala’s work focuses on supporting safe lifelong sport participation, whether playing catch in the backyard or striving for the Olympic and Paralympic podiums and having won grants, scholarships, and awards for her work. She holds a few editorial roles for Sport Medicine journals, alongside serving on several committees, including AIS Research Review Committee and as a former Sport Medicine Australia Executive Board Member. Passionate about science communication and community engagement, Nirmala established the social media strategy for the IOC Conference on Prevention of Injury and Illness in Sport in 2016. |
