Research support

At the University of Pretoria (UP) we believe in developing our students to the highest standards, so that they can successfully complete their studies in the shortest time possible and be prepared for the world beyond UP. As a leading research-intensive university which is locally and globally relevant, we attract students and researchers from around the world. In order to do this, we offer holistic support throughout the postgraduate lifecycle.

Through the FlyHigher@UP programme, the Postgraduate Support Office (PSO) collaborates with the Department of Library Services by hosting and facilitating a wide range of workshops and activities to provide postgraduate students with information and tools that assist in their career planning and research training. The support offered takes the students through the postgraduate life cycle.

Examples of workshops that are presented are writing and presenting a research proposal, experimental design and data analysis, managing the student-supervisor relationship, research communication, funding applications and life skills. Workshops are announced when they are confirmed.
