Future Africa is a research institute and pan-African platform at the University of Pretoria. Its aim is to encourage fundamentally new approaches when it comes to research and innovation that span disciplinary fields and geo-political boundaries.

Future Africa engages diverse collaborators across science, policy, business, civil society and media to pursue four objectives. Firstly, it leads transformative research by convening transdisciplinary groups to tackle global challenges, informing policy, and inspiring sustainability transformations. Secondly, it develops research leadership by training and connecting a new generation of global leaders within Africa. Additionally, it builds transformative global partnerships, acting as a gateway to Africa's scientific community and projecting African sciences globally. Lastly, it fosters a culture of dialogue and action, stimulating bold ideas and enabling change through the Future Africa Dialogue Series.
