Course description
As physiotherapists treating sports injuries, we have a powerful tool when we can apply the knowledge and skill that originates from the different taping methods currently available.
The aim of the course on Strapping and Taping in the treatment of sports injuries
There are currently 3 known methods of taping techniques that are widely used in clinical practice. The aim of this course is to give guidelines on when and how the different techniques should be used or how they can be combined for most effective treatment and management of sports injuries.
Course Content:
· Brief outline of techniques McConnell, Athletic Taping and Kinesio taping
· Discussion of each techniques advantages and disadvantages
· Demonstration of the use of taping related to injuries starting with the ankle and ending with shoulders joint (soft tissue injuries included)
· Practical sessions on selected strapping methods with different materials will be sponsored by BSN (Leuko)
