Our vision is to be the leading Department of Pharmacology in South Africa with respect to teaching of students, research and assuring high quality patient care locally and nationally.

Our mission is to:

• Organise and establish a Department of Pharmacology at the University of Pretoria that
  • Cares, supports, develops and retains high-quality personnel.
  • Is attractive, supportive and motivational to all students.
  • Leads and co-operates in relevant research nationally, on the continent and globally.
• To be involved and support BE@UP and CE@UP in an innovative way.
• To initiate and develop cross-institutional research initiatives for the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Pretoria.
• To develop and optimise the teaching curricula and programmes with the Department of Pharmacology.
