Prof Keshni Bipath from the Faculty Education, Department of Early Childhood Education presented a session on "Belonging, Being, and Becoming." This engaging session focused on the foundational aspects of early childhood development, specifically aimed at practitioners in the field. Through a comprehensive exploration, attendees were introduced to the first two Early Learning and Development Areas: Wellbeing and Personal Belonging. During the session, Prof. Bipath emphasised the importance of fostering a sense of belonging in young children, as it is crucial for their emotional and social development. Participants learned about practical strategies to create environments that promote a child's wellbeing, enhance their self-esteem, and support their ability to form meaningful connections with peers, caregivers, and the community.
