The Hong Kong Polytechnic University students make Pre-University Academic learners tech savvy

As part of their service-learning course students from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, taught learners from the Caritas Ma On Shan Secondary School in Hong Kong as well as 10 learners from the Pre-University Academy (PUA) of the University of Pretoria, Mamelodi campus, how to build a video 360 cardboard viewer and how to use it. Thereafter the learners learned how to edit a video on YouTube as well as how to use a 360 camera. The PUA-learners were assisted in South Africa by three University of Pretoria engineering students, Bryce van der Kraats, Rohan van Zyl and Janco Venter.

The PUA learners and learners from Caritas Ma On Shan Secondary School visited Hong Kong virtually with a live stream session via Zoom, YouTube or WhatsApp. The programme is temporary suspended because of COVID regulations. The programme will continue when the PUA-learners will visit Lory Park Zoo and will stream a 360 video for the learners and students in Hong Kong.

A PUA-learner at the Mamelodi campus was taught how to built a 360 camera.
