Dr Sekao offered a short course on Lesson Study to Mathematics Subject Advisors in KwaZulu-Natal under the auspices of Enterprise University of Pretoria. The training took place from 26 - 30 May 2025 in Durban, KZN province. The five-day training program included overview of Lesson Study, theory and practice involving diagnostic assessment, collaborative lesson planning, lesson presentation and observation, post-lesson reflection and lesson improvement/refinement. As part of the training, three research lessons focusing on Foundation Phase, Intermediate Phase and Senior Phase were planned and implemented at a local primary school. Subsequently, post-lesson reflections were conducted based on the three lessons. Based on the daily feedback from teachers and subject advisors who participated in the training, the overall impression was that they gained valuable insights into content and pedagogical practices through Lesson Study.
