1. Senior Research Award, South African Association for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine, 2013 (for outstanding scientific achievement)
2. Elected to the Academy of Science of South Africa in recognition for scientific achievement and contributions
3. Awarded a Higher Education Leadership Management Fellowship in 2013. I was one of two people from the University of Pretoria awarded this fellowship from Higher Education South Africa to attend a two-week workshop on leadership management in October and December 2013
4. Nominated for the IFCC Distinguished Education award in 2017 by the South African Association for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory for developing innovative teaching materials in Clinical Chemistry
