The University of Pretoria's #ChooseUP day took place on Saturday, 17 August 2024, offering prospective Health Sciences students an exciting opportunity to explore the beautiful Prinshof campus and experience the vibrant student life firsthand.

The day began with a warm welcome from Professor de Jager, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences. In his inspiring address to the future #LifeChangers, he emphasized, "You are not just choosing an education; you are embarking on a transformative journey that empowers you to become well-rounded, exceptional healthcare professionals." Following his remarks, students were addressed by key university figures, including the Vice-Chancellor and representatives from the School of Health Sciences, School of Dentistry, School of Medicine, and Health House. This wondrous program was MC'd by the Head of Anatomy, Professor Soma. Another highlight of the morning program was the announcement of the six students who were awarded study bursaries.

The morning's introduction was followed by exciting campus and residence tours, where students visited various stations designed to familiarize them with UP's prime facilities. The sub-houses proudly showcased their interactive stalls, creatively decorated to reflect the essence of their respective degrees. This provided prospective students with the chance to ask questions about academic programs and student life. The TSSS even offered a hands-on suturing session, giving students a sneak peek into the practical skills they'll master as future healthcare professionals.

Among the highlights was a walk-through of the library, where students were captivated by the state-of-the-art Virtual Reality room, offering a glimpse into the future applications of VR in healthcare.

#ChooseUP 2024 was a day brimming with energy, excitement and community, giving future #LifeChangers a true taste of the UP experience.
