GSTM COORDINATING EFFORTS TO ENABLE MUNICIPAL INDEPENDENT POWER PROGRAMME

The University of Pretoria through the Graduate School of Technology Management, is leading a UKPACT project to enable Municipal Independent Power Producer Project (IPP) Preparation and Procurement. The project team constitutes Pinsent Masons, Kim Adonis Consulting and Cornerstone Infrastructure Advisors. The project aims to create a framework for IPP activity in the municipal sector and also to grow capacity within the municipal sector for IPP programmes. The project is supported by the South African Local Government Association (SALGA), over the full life cycle.

The project team recently conducted a training programme for municipal officials at the CSIR ICC, to build capacity on municipal IPP project preparation and procurement.
