Prof. Mugabe spoke at a panel session on “Science as a Driver for Development”, addressing accountability mechanisms to overcome barriers to research and innovation investment in Africa. The session, organised by ISC Intelligence in Science, aimed to shape input for the UN Financing for Development Summit (FfD4). Prof Mugabe also attended the AU-EU Innovation Agenda Workshop on public health innovation, fostering collaborations between researchers, health practitioners, and policymakers from Africa and Europe. He delivered insights on the evolution and practice of Technology Assessment (TA) in Africa. The session, organised by DSTI and UNCTAD, marked the launch of South Africa’s TA report on electrolyser technologies for green hydrogen production
