Staff members of the Department, sponsors and the top achievers were invited to a breakfast during which the prizes were presented to them by the sponsors.

Prof Henco van Schalkwyk, Head of the Department of Financial Management, opened the function by welcoming everybody present. He thanked the sponsors, namely KPMG, Lexis Nexis and PricewaterhouseCoopers for sponsoring the prizes and their involvement in and support to the Department.

The students who received prizes were:

• Mr OP Nouwens, who received the KPMG prize for the best achievement in FBS 200;
• Ms A Pieterse and Mr SK Honeyborne, who shared the Lexis Nexis prize for the best achievement in BLB 200;
• Mr C Allen, who received the PriceWaterhouse Coopers prize for the best achievement in FBS 700;
• Ms A Graaff and Ms L van Eck, who shared the Lexis Nexis prize for the best achievement in FBS 701; and
• Ms M Koen who received the Lexis Nexis prize for the best achievement in SFB 702.

After the presentation of the prizes, the guests enjoyed breakfast and socialised for a while.
