Bachelor of Commerce specialising in Financial Management Sciences 

The Bachelor of Commerce specialising in Financial Management Sciences degree equips students with a strong foundation in Accounting and Financial Management, which serve as the core majors of the programme. From the third year of study, students may choose to further specialise in either Internal Auditing or Taxation as additional focus areas, enabling them to align their studies with specific career interests in the broader field of financial management.
 
Graduates of this programme are well-positioned to pursue postgraduate study in any of the following: the BCom Honours in Financial Management Sciences, BCom Honours in Internal Auditing, or BCom Honours in Taxation. The degree also provides a pathway to professional recognition — graduates can qualify as Associate General Accountants [AGA(SA)] through SAICA or obtain exemptions from selected Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) examinations, advancing their progress toward professional management accounting credentials.

The Bachelor of Commerce specialising in Investment Management focuses on the needs of the investment environment of a large world economy. Courses include all facets of investment management. The status of Undergraduate Educational Partner was awarded to the University of Pretoria in 2006 by CFA Institute®. Herewith, CFA Institute acknowledges that 70% of the contents of the Level 1 examination of the CFA® programme forms part of the curriculum of the Bachelor of Commerce specialising in Investment Management programme.
