The Department of Financial Management at the University of Pretoria is unique in its composition, combining the full range of academic offering in Corporate Finance, Management Accounting, and Investment Management. Since its inception in 2002, the Department has distinguished itself as a leader in finance education and preferred provider of suitably qualified graduates to industry.

We are responsible for the Corporate Finance and Management Accounting components of the education of prospective Chartered Accountants and Chartered Management Accountants as well as the Investment Management component of students who ultimately want to obtain the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. In this endeavour, we pride ourselves in providing the financial industry with candidates who have the ability to apply the knowledge that they gained.

In addition to honours degrees in Financial Management Sciences and Investment Management, we offer both a coursework and a full dissertation Masters degree at postgraduate level. A PhD in Financial Management Sciences can also be obtained by completing a thesis.
