Gertrude Quan: Doctoral Candidate

Gertrude is a research assistant to Professor Ann Skelton at the Centre for Child Law. She has also worked as an academic associate to Professor Ann Skelton.  She completed her BA French in 2012 and LLB degree in 2014 at Rhodes University in the Eastern Cape. She then worked as a candidate attorney at Meyer and Partners, a law firm situated in Centurion. She completed her LLM in human rights law with the University of Pretoria in 2017 under the supervision of Professor Ann Skelton. Her research was entitled “The transformative Approach of the South African Constitutional Court in cases dealing with access to education”. She is currently studying towards an LLD degree under the supervision of Professor Ann Skelton and Professor Erika De Wet. Gertrude is an aspiring human rights lawyer and an academic.
