Lukman Abdulrauf: Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr Lukman Abdulrauf is a postdoctoral fellow affiliated with the SARChI Professorship in International Constitutional Law of the Department of Public Law, University of Pretoria. He is a lecturer at the Department of Public Law, University of Ilorin. Lukman completed his LL.B and LL.M at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and the University of Ilorin respectively. He also completed his Doctorate (LLD) in 2016 at the University of Pretoria. His doctoral thesis under the supervision of Professor Charles Fombad and Professor Anneliese Roos developed the ‘rights-based’ approach to data privacy protection based on insights from international data protection frameworks. Lukman has also published a number of articles on data protection law and surveillance law. 

Research interests: international privacy and data protection law, surveillance law, information technology and human rights law and comparative law.
