  • Scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL)
  • Continuous professional development of academics

Qualifications:

  • PhD (Assessment and Quality Assurance in Education and Training) at University of Pretoria with Prof Kobus Maree.
  • M.Ed. (Maximizing Potential in Education and Training) under supervision of Prof. Kobus Maree at UP. The degree was awarded Cum laude.
  • B.Ed. (Hons) (Occupational guidance): 1982-1983.    
  • BA(Ed): Mathematics, History and Education: 1978-1981

Publications:

  • I have been active in action research and have contributed to three book chapters (two on professional development and one on assessment).
  • I have published/co-authored ten papers in scientific journals and one is currently under review. The articles were about mathematics education and professional development.
  • I have presented at many national and international conferences.

Current activities:
I have recently co-authored a book about a participatory paradigm for an engaged scholarship in Higher Education. My co-authors were Prof Lesley Wood from North West University and Prof Ortrun Zuber-Skerritt (retired). I am involved in a number of exciting SoTLs in NAS.
