The UP Bindery and Printers hosted a launch party on Friday, 2 September 2022 to celebrate their recent move to the Groenkloof Campus. The new location is certainly a huge upgrade, with a state-of-the-art air-conditioning system, ample parking space for clients, a professional reception area as well as increased ceiling space.
Xolani Hadebe, Head of Information Technology Services (ITS) and Chief Information Officer, thanked the Facilities team, the Department of Library Services (DLS), and the Groenkloof campus for hosting this wonderful event. He emphasised the importance of working together as colleagues to ensure that the new space achieves its intended purpose. He further highlighted the need to effectively communicate this move to ensure that no one gets left behind. He concluded by saying change is good and should be embraced while ensuring that all stakeholders are treated with dignity. He apologised if there were instances where this move was not handled with care. He concluded by saying “Let’s bless this new space and enjoy coming to work”.
Nicolaas Bester from Facilities thanked the ITS department for their support during the process of relocating. He briefly narrated how the architects who worked on this project spent time streamlining this process to optimise the new space. “Congratulations on your lovely new facility, you can be proud of your new space!”
On behalf of the DLS Director, Modisa Khosie, Deputy Director: Information Resources, Access, and Operations, thanked all the teams and partners for their hard work in making this move a success. He emphasised the importance of enhancing these new synergies to ensure a successfully optimised value proposition for the Groenkloof Campus. One of the DLS’s strategic priorities is to enhance the academic and student experience through the upskilling of the workforce and as such, this move will contribute toward reimagining and repurposing the DLS collections and spaces. He also made a special thanks to everyone responsible for organising this delightful event.
We would like to invite the UP community to make use of these new facilities on the Groenkloof campus.
