Guidelines

  • Abstracts should be a maximum of 250 words (excluding title and author information).
  • Include a theoretical framework (as applicable), research question(s), methodology, findings and conclusion (recommendations).
  • Do not include references.
  • The organising committee will format the document – thus, please ensure that all the information requested in the online abstract submission form is completed correctly. Upon confirmation of acceptance of your abstract, we will provide you with the formatted version of the document. You will therefore have the opportunity to comment if amendments are required.

Process after submission

  • The organising committee will review your abstract and reserves the right to accept, suggest changes, reallocate it to a different sub-theme/presentation type or decline your abstract. You will receive notifications throughout the entire process.
  • Should your abstract be accepted for presentation, the status of your abstract will change from “My abstracts” to “Accepted”.

For symposium

For a symposium, submit one abstract summarising the overall objectives of the symposium, as well as a separate abstract for each paper. Authors can submit a maximum of three papers per symposium.

Virtual presentation

  • There is limited space for virtual presentations, which will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • All virtual presentations will be made in one room.
  • Include “Virtual” at the beginning of your abstract title to indicate your presentation mode.
  • Virtual presenters can only attend virtually in the room dedicated to virtual presentations.

The medium of all communication for the 2025 DETA conference will be in English.

Conference proceedings

Presenters do not need to submit full papers. Conference proceedings will not be published.
