The Extractives Programme was represented during the various side-events of the Investing in African Mining Indaba week, held in Cape Town (South Africa) from 6 to 10 February 2017.  During this time, the Programme Coordinator of the Extractives Programme, Leon Gerber, participated in two knowledge exchange events, hosted by the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA). The two roundtable events respectively addressed the topics of ‘Trusts as a mechanism for employee and community empowerment in South African mining’, and ‘Extractive Industry Governance and the Sustainable Development Goals’.
