About us

Advancing academic research and initiatives that will help legislators, regulatory agencies, legal experts, and international advocacy groups create a regulatory framework that equitably strikes a balance between protecting the various interests of the public and creating an atmosphere that makes mineral, oil, and gas extraction lucrative for both domestic and foreign investors.  For lawmakers to develop effective policy and regulatory frameworks, they need to have a working knowledge of the financial metrics that affect businesses' investment decisions. Mining, oil, and gas companies also need to understand the public policy imperatives of the jurisdictions in which they operate to be successful. Create research products that will help regulate the activities of the extractive industries in a way that safeguards the advantages they offer. Contribute to a greater understanding of the dynamics of contemporary extractive industries.

Present the knowledge, abilities, and experience needed for specialised legal extraction positions in both the public and private sectors.  Work together to develop cooperative research and initiatives with pertinent industry partners.  bolster Africa's higher education institutions' capacity to develop the greatest talent for these positions and increase their ability to conduct innovative research in the region by utilizing the world's top researchers.

Developing courses specifically for African students will set the standard for the upcoming generation of corporate and government leaders, who will be more prepared to handle these challenging topics than those who attend programs outside of Africa. Future generations of legislators, bureaucrats, and policymakers will understand that the change of the sector must put human dignity and broad economic progress ahead of the wealth of a select few powerful individuals. Understanding how extractive businesses operate goes much beyond the wording of the contract, in addition to developing solutions to address intricate governance and execution challenges that can be crucial to the success of such endeavors.
