Honours: BSocSci Honours in Anthropology
The BSocSci honours course is an intensive, one-year degree programme. It is designed to help students transition from undergraduate to postgraduate studies and it is a requirement for further postgraduate studies. The honours programme comprises three coursework modules and one year-long research module that prepares students for anthropological research. All students in the programme are required to enroll for all four these modules. The three coursework module are taught by lecturers in the Department and are offered at different times of the academic calendar.
Quarter 1: APL 755: Research methodology in anthropology [20 credits]
Quarter 2: APL 761: Contemporary ethnography [20 credits]
Quarter 3: APL 756: Politics and identity [20 credits]
The research module runs for the entire academic year and the work done for this module is done under the supervision of one of the lecturers in the Department.
