The Faculty of Law at the University of Pretoria is proud to announce that alumna Agasha Natalie Tabaro has been selected to pursue Master’s studies in International Human Rights at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.  Another feather in Agasha’s master’s studies cap is that the University of Oxford has nominated her for the Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship. ‘I am beyond honoured and owe it all to UP. This is where my passion for human rights, particularly as applies to the African region, was first ignited’ says Agasha.  ‘I am humbled and wish to encourage other students not to wane in their dreams; it is possible’!

The Master of Studies programme is designed for lawyers and other human rights professionals who wish to pursue advanced studies in international human rights law. This course is offered jointly by the Department for Continuing Education and the Faculty of Law at Oxford. It is conducted on a part-time basis over two years and includes two periods of distance learning as well as two summer sessions held at New College, Oxford. The curriculum places roughly equal emphasis on the substance of human rights law, its implementation and research
