Giving Matters

#UPGivingMatters Campaign

The University of Pretoria has embarked on a three-year campaign to create awareness, attract new donors, and encourage existing donors to increase their funding to the University.

The #UPGivingMatters campaign will be a global campaign, reaching staff, students, the Executive, and the Council of the University, externally addressing UP alumni, the USA and UF Foundations, large corporations, and high net worth individuals and friends of the University.

It is our mission to endeavour to ask, ‘What if?’

It drives our institutional thinking and propels innovators to find solutions in a world in crisis.

At UP, we pride ourselves most on the quality of our graduates and the change they will make to society. We strive to produce future leaders, with more than 30 000 of our students embarking on community service as part of their studies. This gives students real-world exposure. It allows them to apply their ideas and knowledge to real-life situations and develop tangible problem-solving strategies. Therefore, it is a priority for us to increase access to affordable university education for all deserving students. The University currently offers student support to more than 10 000 students. This varies from tuition fees and textbooks to accommodation and meal allowances.

In addition to aiding students financially, your contributions enable UP to build and provide the infrastructure that supports students' experiments and theories, ideas, and practical applications, which get neglected due to a lack of funding.
