Message from the Acting Director Prof Nthabiseng Ogude

Welcome to the webpage of the University of Pretoria’s Pre-University Academy (UP-PreUA). The UP-PreUA is a flagship programme of the University that is distinct from programmes offered by NGOs and other players that prepare learners to pass the National Senior Certificate or other examinations. In particular, the UP-PUA aims to depart from passive forms of learning focused on direct instruction and memorisation, to focus on interactive methods that promote critical and individual thinking. A UP-PreUA graduate will  not only be able to qualify for tertiary studies but will also develop the skills and knowledge required to thrive and excel in their undergraduate studies. The various cohorts of the UP-PreUA will provide a pipeline of future researchers and distinguished scientists. The
